School Enterprise Challenge Update

Greetings from all at Teach A Man To Fish

We are thrilled at the excellent response we have seen to the School Enterprise Challenge 2012 so far, with 160 schools from around the world already registered!

We would like to welcome all of the schools who have registered, including Dannol Junior School & Giovanna Centre of Hope Orphanage and School (Kenya), Nyamwamba Parents Primary school (Uganda) and Community Secondary school Affa (Nigeria).  We are also delighted to welcome the following schools who were the first to register from their respective countries – VNVK of Verkhnyachka School 1 (Ukraine), Al-Kuwait Secondary School (Yemen) and Padiham St Leonard’s C of E Primary School (UK).

Lots of the schools registered have already had some fantastic enterprise ideas, for example Giovanna Centre of Hope Orphanage and School in Kenya are planning to involve students in running school gardens. They then plan to sell the products and earn some money for their school.

There are of course many different ways for schools to incorporate their enterprise into the school week. One approach being taken by Bizben Int’l School in Nigeria is to create a school club which will meet every week to discuss and plan the running of their business.

Good luck to all schools in whatever enterprise you are planning this year!

To all those schools not yet registered, we would love to have you on board! Remember that you can register for the competition here, and further information about the competition can be found on our website:

In other news, we were delighted to see further recognition this week for the winner in the ‘Planet’ category for 2011 – The Heritage School in India – with an article appearing in The Telegraph India:

It seems the Mushroom enterprise of the Heritage School is going from strength to strength, and we look forward to seeing their enterprise grow further this year!

As always, we would be love to hear from you with any questions or comments you may have. You can visit our Facebook page here, Tweet us: @schenterprise, or contact us via email:

Best Regards,

From the SEC team.
